6. Judging Process (Game of Skill)
This is a skill-based competition. Entries are assessed by the Promoter against the following criteria:
- Product quality and outcome
- Clarity of content
- Creativity and storytelling
- Authenticity
- Alignment with the Kalahari brand
- Public reach and engagement, where the entry has been posted publicly
6A. How public engagement is treated
- Where an entry is posted publicly on Instagram, TikTok or YouTube tagging @kalaharikhabultd and using #KalahariCraftChallenge, the Promoter may take into account the views, likes, shares, comments and overall reach that entry achieves.
- Engagement is one factor among those listed in clause 6. It is not determinative. A high level of engagement does not guarantee selection as a finalist or as the winner.
- Entries submitted only through the competition landing page are assessed on the remaining criteria in clause 6 and are not disadvantaged by the absence of public engagement figures.
- The Promoter will measure engagement at a date of its choosing before finalist selection, and is not obliged to disclose that date or the figures recorded.
- Engagement obtained through bots, paid promotion of the entry, engagement pods, purchased views or any other artificial means will be disregarded and may result in disqualification under clause 13.
6B. Promoter discretion
The Promoter’s assessment of the criteria in clause 6 is final. The Promoter may select finalists and determine the winner at its sole discretion having regard to those criteria, and is not required to select the entries with the highest engagement.
No correspondence will be entered into regarding judging decisions.
7. Competition Timeline
- Entries close: 15 August 2027
- Top 10 finalists announced: 22 August 2027
- Public voting period: 22 August – 5 September 2027
- Winner announced: 7 September 2027
8. Finalist Selection and Voting
- The Promoter will select 10 finalists based on the criteria in clause 6.
- The final winner will be determined by a combination of:
- Public voting
- Promoter discretion (to ensure fairness and integrity)
9. Prize
One (1) prize is available: a travel package for two people to Sydney, Australia, in November 2027.
(a) Accommodation. Seven (7) nights for two (2) people sharing one room at a hotel of 3 star standard or above, in the Greater Sydney region, selected and booked by the Promoter.
(b) Flights. Return economy class flights for two (2) people from the international airport nearest the winner’s residential address to Sydney. Provided where that address is more than 250 kilometres by road from the accommodation.
(c) Match tickets. Two (2) tickets to the Final of the Men’s Rugby World Cup 2027 in Sydney. Seating category and supply are at the Promoter’s discretion.
Note I’ve also taken Accor Stadium out. Two reasons. It’s another company’s trade mark, and major tournaments typically enforce clean venue policies that strip commercial naming for the duration. Accor Stadium is very likely to be called something else during RWC 2027, so naming it is both a risk and probably wrong.
9A. What the prize does not include
Anything not listed in clause 9 is the winner’s responsibility, including:
- Airport transfers, ground transport, parking, and all travel within Australia including to and from Accor Stadium
- Meals, drinks, hotel incidentals and minibar charges
- Travel insurance, which is a condition of accepting the prize
- Passports, visas and any travel authorisation required to enter Australia
- Spending money and all personal expenses
- Upgrades of any kind, to flights, accommodation or seating, at any point
- Any tax liability arising from the prize
- Any cost arising from the winner or their companion failing to meet Australian entry requirements
9B. Travel conditions
- The winner must travel with one (1) companion aged 18 years or older.
- If the winner lives outside Australia the winner and their companion must each hold a valid passport with at least 6 months’ validity beyond the return travel date, and must obtain any visa or travel authorisation required to enter Australia.
- The winner and their companion must be fit to travel and must hold valid travel insurance before departure.
- Travel dates are set by the Promoter around the date of the Final and cannot be changed.
- All bookings will be made by the Promoter or its nominated travel provider. The winner may not book independently and claim reimbursement.
- Once bookings are confirmed, any change to the travelling companion is at the winner’s cost and subject to the supplier’s rules.
- No frequent flyer points or equivalent loyalty benefits accrue on any flights forming part of the prize.
- Match tickets are supplied subject to the terms and conditions of the ticket issuer and the venue, which may include personalisation and restrictions on transfer or resale. The winner and their companion must comply with those terms. Removal from the venue for breach of those terms carries no recourse against the Promoter.
9C. Claiming the prize
- The winner will be notified by email and social media on 7 September 2027.
- The winner must accept the prize and supply all traveller details within 14 days of notification.
- If the winner has not accepted the prize and supplied all required details by 30 September 2027, the prize is forfeited.
- If the winner forfeits the prize, does not respond, cannot travel, or does not meet the conditions in clause 9B, the Promoter may award the prize to the next highest ranked finalist.
9D. Changes to the prize
- The prize is non-transferable, cannot be exchanged for cash, and must be taken as specified.
- If the Final is cancelled, postponed, relocated or rescheduled, or if tickets become unavailable for reasons outside the Promoter’s control, the Promoter may substitute a prize of equal or greater value.
- The Promoter is not liable for any change to the tournament schedule, venue, format or ticketing arrangements.
